Applications

Elastomers for parts that work under load

Reactan prepolymers are cured at your plant with MOCA or TIPA/TMP to make parts with high abrasion, tear and load resistance.

Polyurethane wheels, seals and bushings.
  • Rollers

Covers for industrial rollers that need abrasion resistance and dimensional stability.

  • Wheels

Treads for wheels that carry heavy loads.

  • Seals and bushings

Seals, gaskets and bushings that must resist wear.

  • Mats

Mats and technical sheets for impact and wear zones.

Selection guide

Choose by hardness and curative

Final hardness depends on the prepolymer and the curative. MOCA gives the grade’s nominal hardness; TIPA/TMP gives a softer elastomer.

Elastomer hardness by curative, and gel time
ProductChemistryMOCA Shore ATIPA/TMP Shore AGel time at 80 °C min
PES-80Polyester / TDI80< 5014
PES-90Polyester / TDI90< 608–10
PTMEG-80Polyether / TDI805018
PTMEG-83A GRPolyether / TDI83535
PTMEG-90Polyether / TDI906011

Note: “<” means “below”. Gel time measured at 80 °C with MOCA.

  2. 02MOCA at 110 °CMelt the curative and dose per the data sheet (10.5–13.6 g per 100 g).
  3. 03Mold at 100 °CMix and pour within the grade’s gel time (5–18 min at 80 °C).
  4. 04Post-cure 16 h at 110 °CDemold and post-cure to reach data-sheet properties.
